Paul Free’s story is one of resilience and second chances. In 1995, he received life without parole for a nonviolent marijuana conspiracy. During more than two decades in federal prison, Paul taught GED and reading classes, mentored fellow prisoners, and helped people navigate legal filings. President Obama granted his clemency in 2016, and Paul returned home in 2019.
